I wish I could! and so does Anton. who is Anton you ask? well Anton is a wee boy with a magic hat. A real one. And it makes things disappear…like a bird and his friend Luke….but can it make them re appear??!
Anton can do magic is the new release by Gecko Press books. If you didn’t already know (shame on you!) Gecko Press are Wellington based folk who translate and publish awfully neat books from foreign lands that we might otherwise never get a chance to read….that is unless you can read Swedish or Taiwanese?! The Gecko Press books are aimed at both young children and old children…..I guess you could call them adults and are all just as gorgeous and readable as the one before.
We carry a good range of the Hardback books by Gecko Press and all of us at Madame Fancy Pants are pretty well read up on them! So come sit down and have a read of some yourself.

For the last two years world sweet world has delighted and entertained its readers and the Autumn issue #9 is no different, lucky for us the latest issue arrived today, and its another amazing magazine from the team at WSW filled with nifty little DIY’s and lovely little stories.
But sadly, after two years this will be the final issue, so come grab yours while they last, (which usually isn’t a super long time) but don’t Despair we do still have a couple of issues 8 and 4 if you missed them last time!!!!!!!! yay.
World Sweet World will be surely missed.
All the best Hannah and Thomas!

If you havent used it before its a modern day miracle ointment, it can be used on your lips, dry hands and pretty much an all rounder for all bumps and scrapes :)
And if you have used it before……… well you will prob need some more,
so pop in and see us, because you can never have too much :)

Cat whos a kitty cat..you meow meow meow and a meow meow meow..
ok . Enough of that.
Cats, you may love’em you may hate’em, I love em and Zak and Heather of the Waterbear Society love’em. They love em so much they made a zine about all the resident cats around Wellington. Yup, thats right if you have a Wellington cat….YOUR cat may be famous!
Staring!……Jobbles (jobble 1 jobbble 2), Pillows, Gate face and more feature in issue 1. Peoples (who thinks…hes a people), Smotherpuss and Peter chin (the local one eyed cat bully) feature in issue 2. The wee zines are filled with neato kooky pics by the uber talented Zak Webber and the crafty Miss Heather Barnes does the banter. So neat are the zines that they won a zine award last year at the Auckland zine fest and The Dom Post think they are pretty darn nifty and they did an article about em….Yay you guys!
We have a few copies of issue #1 and #2 for $5 each……pop on in and check’em out!
Here at Madame Fancy Pants we are collecting clothes for the Pre loved fashion sale coming up on the 13th of march…. so not to far away, now!
Heres a little message from the lovely ladies who are organizing it.
Every one Counts
OK girls, here’s a way to cheer up on a rainy day – Dive into your wardrobe! Donations for the Preloved Fashion Sale on 13 March are coming in nicely – thank you to everyone who has already donated. But we need even more preloved clothes and accessories from you and your friends! And we need them now. So today or tomorrow, dive into your wardrobe and pull out at least one item that you no longer want to wear.
Be honest, there must be something!. Just one more item from everyone would mean heaps of extra dollars being available to help New Horizons for Women Trust provide second chance education for women, and Wellington’s ChangeMakers Refugee Forum support refugee women. Of course, you if you can find more than one item, that would be brilliant. Then drop off your donations this week at : City – Madame Fancy Pants, 217 Cuba Street
So bring in the clothes your bored of and cant be bothered selling today!
