MFP's pics for summer dresses!

It is a real stunning day here in lil Wellington today and I have gotten all inspired to start working on my summer outfits.- and you should to because Arielle and High Noon Tea have whipped up some real pearlers for y'all!

Our dress pics from Arielle Mermin are her Hamptons dress with its gorgeous contrasting stripes in dove grey, nude and gold to subtly sparkle when the light hits it.  This dress looks great during the day with simple slip on shoes or perhaps dress it up for an beach wedding with the Mardle gold Lizzie belt.  Stunning!

Another wee number from Arielle is not quite a dress (though it does indeed look like like one!) its ..a playsuit! The Napa playsuit is due any day now, its made of the softest blue cotton fabric with sweet little fabric dot/bobbles all over making it the perfect weekend outfit.  Keep your eyes out for the Napa Playsuit in store soon.

High Noon Tea has gone dotty! Its a pretty on trend look, but then when were spots ever out? never - that's when!  The Hallelujah dress has the most adorable pleated bib detail (with a little leather centre for a bit of toughness!) Designer Sheryl knows us ladies LOVE pockets so she was sure to put some on this number, perhaps for storing the number of that spunky lad (or lass!) you met out at the park on a summery day like today!

Going floral is a perfect choice for a spring wedding, HNT's silk Platinum dress will be winging its way to our hangers in a matter of days.

Do pop on by to try some of our lovely new summer goodies on - its amazing what a gorgeous new dress will do to lift those post winter blues!

If you are not in Wellington don't forget we have a great returns policy on clothes - just in case the fit is not quite right!

Have a beautiful weekend!

Abandoned Houses and blue skies

A few months back my gal pals Jenn & Sarah & I went over to the Wairarapa on a mini trip away (perhaps in prep for our USA trip!).

We drove about the area on a gorgeous blue skied day and came across some amazing old abandoned houses.  They  looked like they had been left alone by their owners in those fields many years ago, but had now been lovingly adopted as home or stop over place by birds, sheep and other critters.  We went inside them and wandered about, as we stepped over holes in floor boards, bird poop and general ramshackleness, I couldn't help but think of what these curious derelict buildings might have been like in their glory days and why they were left to the creatures.

Summer Is Here! (Kinda)

Well, the Summer clothing is definitely here and it just keeps coming! Last week we showed off some of Highnoontea's pieces just to make you smile and this week we'll introduce you to two designers who are new to Madame Fancy Pants; Silence Was... and Mardle. We're super excited to be housing their collections this Summer, so check out what we've got in so far- there's more on its way!

Say hello to Mardle; all glitz and glam, but not just for your nights out.

Shiana Weir is the lovely lady behind this stunning label and started out designing men's streetwear but one day made the decision to design clothes she could actually wear herself, which is lucky for us ladies! Mardle is the epitome of fuss free, wearable, elegant clothing and this Summer collection is full of statement dresses that will be perfect for any glamorous party, concert or wedding that you'll inevitably get invited along to in the warmer months.

If you're the kind of gal who likes graphic prints, geometrics, and clothing with a masculine edge then you'll fall in love with Silence Was...

Yujia Wang's pieces are sure to make you feel confident and comfortable. Silence Was... is defined by the touch and feel of the fabric, and the clean, simple cuts. “I think it's putting art into our lives,” Yujia explains. Like a piece of art, garments from this label are designed to be around until time tears them apart. We're falling in love with the relaxed but smart look these pieces will bring to our Summer wardrobes, we hope you'll fall in love with them too!

Because Summer is just around the corner and we've got to make way for some lovely new pieces, we're having a pretty big.......

Woohoo!! Check out what we've got online or pop in to see us to snap yourself up a beautiful dress or a little trinket to ferret away until the Winter chill hits the air once again!

Love a good sale, also love our new clothes! I'm off overseas for a couple of months so you might not hear from me for a while, but definitely keep following along on this blog to find out what's going on here at Madame Fancy Pants; there are so many goodies to come!

Read All About It!!

We've been very lucky to have some of our beautiful things from Madame Fancy Pants featured in two of Wellington's local publications this week; The Dominion Post and Capital Magazine! Wanna see??

Our lovely new Lucy McIntosh Nail Polishes were featured in The Dominion Post today. Looking super slick and glam are three beautiful shades out of our full range of ten polishes that come in "shades from soft aubergine to dusty nude and blush" (as put very nicely by the Dom Post). Check out the full range by clicking HERE, and remember you can always pop in and try them out!

We are also loving having one our wallets and one of our bags included in Capital Magazine's Fashion Feature this month. This months feature is all about celebrating the vibrancy of the Cuba Quarter of Wellington, where our brick and mortar store lives. Think patterns, textures, colours and "bohemian charm". The cute green Status Anxiety Norma Wallet and the stunning Kate of Arcadia Trug in Cloud were handpicked for this photo and we're super proud!

Do make sure you pop in and grab yourself a copy of Capital Magazine to read all about Cuba's vibrant fashion and a big bunch of wonderful things going on in our cool little Capital. At only $3.90 for a super rad mag, you can't really go wrong!

So glad we could share with you all our little features in two of our fave Wellington publications! And now, before I leave you to your Wednesday evening drinks/snuggles by the tv, may I suggest some Payday Pasta for your dinner? A super quick recipe for when you've got a little extra padding in your wallet thanks to the lovely Hungry and Frozen

Happy reading, happy eating and, of course, happy Wednesday!
