Hello, you lovely, loved up humans! Looking for a celebrant to help you celebrate?
I'm Claire Terry aka Madame Fancy Pants, and after more than 26 years of creating memorable experiences for and with folks through customer service, retail, performing and MCing I'm excited to add Aotearoa based Independent Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant to my bow.
My grand vision is simple: to create ceremonies that are joyful. Whether your style is relaxed and casual, quirky and fun or Mills and Boon romantic, I believe every ceremony should tell your story in a way that feels authentic and memorable.
Offering ceremonies that reflect my values of warmth, inclusivity, creativity, fun and connection, while being sure all the important cross the t's and dot the i's legal business is done. Officiating is official work! But we can still make it LOVED UP!
One of the things that will make Fancy Ever After a little different, a little jazz hands, is one of my many side quests as a metalsmith. In the very near future, Couples will have the opportunity to create their own wedding bands in my Wairarapa studio - adding another special memory to the journey towards marriage. But wait, there's more - with my previous moonlighting as a musician and wedding singer - I'll even sing ya'll down the aisle. It's your day and I just want it to be the best possible.

For the folks who want a ring on it, quickly. A registry-style ceremony at your home or a public spot, with fewer than 10 people there to see it happen.

Small gathering? Elopement? Civil union? Vow renewal?
This one's for a cozy ceremony shared with a small circle of whānau (or just your witnesses) - still personal, still yours, with a lil' touch of hoopin' and hollerin'. I'll prepare a basic ceremony script, and you add your own vows and personal touches.

SHEBANG CEREMONY$650
The big shebang! The whole hoopla!
If you're making a day of it and want your ceremony to be a real, personal telling of your story together, this is for you. Already have readings, rituals, or music in mind? Bring them along. If not, I'll share resources and guide you through writing your vows or choosing the perfect reading - blessings, prayers, and cultural traditions warmly welcomed. A group dance? Fun costume from your favourite wedding movie? Heck - I'm up for it! Once you've filled in my short questionnaire, I'll put together a draft script and we'll refine it together from there. You stay in full control of what's said on your day, every step of the way.
